  1. Before using your Nouvelle cookware for the first time, remove all packaging and labels. Wash the pan with warm soapy water, rinse and dry thoroughly.
  2. Nouvelle cast iron cookware can be used on all conventional heating sources such as gas, electric, ceramic, and induction cook tops, as well as in ovens. Although safe to use on outdoor grills or over camp/bbq fires, this may cause the coating to age pre-maturely or cause discoloration, due to the fact that temperatures cannot be controlled or managed. This will not be covered by your warranty.
Very important: Nouvelle cookware is not safe for microwave use.
PLEASE NOTE: When using on any glass stove tops always lift the pot to move in order to avoid scratching your stove top.
  3. The enamel surfaces are not suitable for dry cooking.  Always add your choice of liquids such as water or milk, oil, fat or butter to completely cover the base of your cookware before the heating begins.  Nouvelle cookware should not be heated when empty or allowed to boil dry.
  4. Low to medium heats are recommended when using Nouvelle cookware. Always match the cookware base to the heating zone.  Nouvelle cast iron cookware has excellent heat retention, so once cookware is heated, most cooking can continue at a lower heat setting.  High heats should never be used to pre-heat cookware. This may cause discolouration or damage the enamel cooking surface.  Use high heats for boiling water for vegetables of pastas only.
  5. The recommended maximum temperatures for oven use are 200°C/Gas 5.
  6. Cast iron and/or stainless steel knobs will become hot during use.  Always ensure that you protect your hands when handling the cookware.
  7. Use of silicone and plastic utensils that are heat resistant, as well as wooden tools, are recommended when cooking. Use of metal utensils may cause silver lines on the enamel surface of your cookware.
  8. Never cut foods directly on the enamel cooking surface.
  9. Electric hand beaters of mixers may cause permanent damage to the enamel surface of your cookware.

  1. Allow cookware to cool down for a few minutes before cleaning.
  2. Never place hot cookware with cold water or run cold water over the cookware. Flash cooling causes a sudden change in temperature and may damage the enamel coating due to the sudden shrinkage of the iron.
  3. If there are food residues fill the pan with warm water and leave to soak for 15 – 20 minutes, then wash with warm soapy water.  Always use non-abrasive cleaning pads or brushes to remove stubborn residues.  Harsh abrasive cleaning agents and steel scourers will damage the enamel and polished trims.
  4. PLEASE NOTE:  Discolouration over time is normal.  Enamel cooking surfaces may acquire a brownish patina over time.  It is completely natural and a result of food chemicals bonding with the enamel finish under hot conditions.  Do not attempt to clean the patina with use of abrasive cleaning chemical or corrosive pads or brushes.

  1. Although Nouvelle cookware is dishwasher safe, handwash with warm soapy is recommended when cleaning your Nouvelle cookware.  Constant washing in the dishwasher may lead to some dulling of the enamel finish.  This will not impair the   performance of your cookware.
  2. To remove stubborn baked on food, bring to a boil 2 cups of water and 4 tablespoons of baking soda. Boil for a few minutes then use nylon or wood scraper to loosen food.
  3. Never store away pans when they are still damp. Store pans in a dry cupboard or airy space away from kitchen steam.
  4. Maintain the tightness of all handles and knobs by checking and re-tightening them regularly.
  5. Avoid dropping or knocking Nouvelle cookware against hard surfaces.  Cookware may chip or crack.
  6. Never store your cookware when it is still damp. Allow cookware to dry thoroughly by placing the cookware in an airy space, away from kitchen steam.
PLEASE NOTE:  Never use kitchen scouring powders/cleansers or steel wool or other abrasive cleaning techniques as it may harm/scratch the enamel finish.
